Harlem Thrive V2 Kitesurfing Kite
The Harlem Thrive V2 is the next generation of one of Harlem's most popular kites — an ultra-light, 3-strut all-rounder that excels in every condition from light summer breezes to powered-up onshore sessions. Whether you're a dedicated freerider, getting into waves, or chasing your first big air moves, the Thrive V2 is designed to feel intuitive and forgiving while still delivering real performance. Available in sizes 5m through 13m.
After talking to Aaron Hadlow, I picked up some snippets of info on the new Thrive Mk2; here is a condensed conversation.
More Predictable in Smaller Sizes. The original Thrive was known for lightning-fast direction changes, exciting for advanced riders but occasionally unpredictable for those pushing their limits. The Thrive Two’s eight-point bridle tames this in the smaller sizes, keeping the same explosive speed while making turns and bar input far more predictable. Riders get a kite that responds precisely rather than catching them off guard mid-manoeuvre.
More Lift in Larger Sizes. In the bigger sizes, Harlem kept the Thrive Two’s signature quickness but opened the canopy slightly. Combined with the new bridle geometry, this delivers noticeably more vertical lift in jumps, giving big air riders a bigger, more sustained boost.
Higher Aspect Feel, Better Upwind Range. The redesigned bridle also lets the Thrive Two fly further forward in the wind window, effectively giving it the feel of a higher-aspect-ratio kite. The result is stronger vertical lift and improved upwind performance across the range.
Who It’s For. The Harlem Thrive Two is built for intermediate to expert riders who want the explosive performance the Thrive was famous for, now paired with the confidence and control to get the most out of every session.
- 3-strut design for a lighter, more responsive feel — fewer struts mean the kite turns faster and relaunches easily, while keeping the overall weight down for a more connected, lively ride.
- All-conditions, all-discipline versatility — the Thrive V2 is equally at home in flat water, waves, or open ocean. A genuinely capable kite across a wide wind range.
- Intuitive and accessible at any level — responsive enough to satisfy experienced riders, forgiving enough that progressing riders won't feel out of their depth. A kite that grows with you.
