Wing Foils
The most important of your wing foiling parts, the hydrofoil. This critical part helps to fly above the water. The most important element is the cm2 surface area of the hydrofoil wing. An area above 2000 cm2 will give you great lift at very low speeds. If the foil is also very thick ( a low aspect ratio) it will also be pretty slow. As the surface area becomes smaller your ability at pumping the hydro foil on to the plane with a combination of your body and the power of the inflatable wing your hanging on to becomes more critical.
As you want to go faster you will want a thinner foil this is a higher aspect ratio. These if not wide enough are slower on to the plane. So as you can see there are a lot of combinations. Your weight and ability, the conditions your riding in most of the time all play a large role in your choice of the correct wing foil.
