Duotone 2027 Pump Pressures, Click Bar and Trust Bar Explained

Quick answer: Duotone's 2027 kites pump to three different pressures depending on construction. Original (Dacron) kites: 7 psi. SLS kites: 9 psi for 10 m and smaller, 8 psi for 11 m and bigger. D/LAB kites: 10 psi. The number is printed on the valve protection patch on your kite — check it before you pump. For bars, the 2027 Click Bar and Trust Bar both land in September 2026 with small updates: the Click Bar loses the extra front-line stopper ball and ships with the Low V distributor in the box; the Trust Bar gets a black DPL24 depower line and extra front-line pigtails for trim.

Two things people ask us every time a new Duotone range lands: "what pressure do I pump it to?" and "do I need a new bar?" This is the short answer to both for 2027, straight from Duotone's product information. If you're still choosing the kite, start with Which Duotone kite? Evo vs Rebel vs Neo vs Dice.

Pump pressure by construction and model

Duotone 2027 kite pressure overview chart: Original 7 psi, SLS 8-9 psi, D/LAB 10 psi

Construction Pressure Kites
Original (Dacron) 7 psi Evo, Neo 2027, Juice, Vegas, Mono
SLS (PentaTX) 9 psi up to 10 m
8 psi 11 m and bigger
Evo SLS & Concept Blue (5–10 m → 9, 11–13 m → 8)
Rebel SLS & Concept Blue (6–10 m → 9, 11–14 m → 8)
Neo SLS (5–10 m → 9, 11–12 m → 8)
Dice SLS (6–10 m → 9, 11–13 m → 8)
D/LAB (Aluula) 10 psi Evo D/LAB, Rebel D/LAB, Neo D/LAB, Juice D/LAB

Duotone's own instruction is the one to follow: check the print on the Airport valve protection patch on your kite before you pump. Older kites and other model years may differ from the table above — the patch on the kite in front of you is the authority, not this page.

A practical note: 10 psi in a 12 m D/LAB is a fair few more strokes than 7 psi in an Original. A bigger-barrel pump moves more air per stroke, which is why we stock the Duotone pump in L (4.6 litre) and XL (5.8 litre) — links at the bottom.

Why the SLS pressures went up

Every 2027 SLS kite lists the same first item under "what's new": higher structural stiffness and pressure-enabled performance. Duotone's explanation on the Evo SLS is that the removal of the old Flex Strut, combined with "thinner and significantly stiffer struts", reduces deformation under load, so the kite keeps its shape through fast turns and loops and gives more precise feedback. The higher pressure is part of that stiffness. On the Dice SLS Duotone says the higher pressure and optimised force transfer "provide controlled and even pull throughout loops, transitions, and powered riding". In other words: the pressure isn't optional fine-tuning, it's part of how the 2027 SLS kites are designed to fly. Under-pump one and you're riding a softer kite than the one that was tested.

The split at 11 m is Duotone's, not ours — bigger kites get 8 psi, smaller ones 9. It applies to every 2027 SLS model.

Both bars are new for September 2026, and both are evolutions rather than redesigns. The difference between them is the same as it's always been: how you trim the kite.

Click Bar 2027

  • Trim: Duotone's push-button Precise Backline Trim — you click power on and off at the bar end instead of pulling a strap or cleat. Repeatable and one-handed.
  • Lines: Flite99 2.0 — 1.3 mm Flite99 back lines, 1.5 mm Flite99+ front lines
  • Sizes: S 42 cm with 20/22 m lines; M 49 cm with 22/24 m lines; M with 12/24 m (school/extension setup)
  • Safety: Click-In Safety System — reassembles quickly after a release
  • Also: automatic untwist with centre-part bearing, removable floater, metal ring V-distributor, optional Low V distributor, optional 5th Element upgrade kit (for the 20+2 and 22+2 line sets only)
  • New for 2027: no additional front-line stopper ball; the Low V distributor is no longer pre-assembled but is included in the box, to be fitted when needed; new colourway

Trust Bar 2027

  • Trim: conventional front-line depower using Duotone's DPL24 depower line
  • Lines: Flite99 2.0 — same 1.3 mm back / 1.5 mm front as the Click Bar
  • Sizes: S/M adjustable 42/49 cm with 22+2 m or 12+12 m lines; M/L adjustable 46/53 cm with 22+2 m lines. Duotone calls it "one bar for all setups" because both width and line length adjust.
  • Safety: the same Click-In Safety System
  • Also: metal ring V-distributor, optional Low V distributor, 4-line only, no 5th Element upgrade kit
  • New for 2027: DPL24 depower line now in black; additional front-line pigtails for a better trim; new colourway

Which one? Our view, not Duotone's: the Click Bar is the nicer thing to use — clean front lines, no strap flapping about, and trimming is a thumb-press. It's slightly more expensive, and it's the only one of the two that can take the optional 5th Element kit. The Trust Bar is simpler, 4-line only, a little cheaper, adjusts in width as well as line length, and Duotone specifically points to it for school environments and for mixing with other brands' kites via the Low V. If you're on one set of Duotone kites and ride a lot, Click Bar. If you want one bar across different kites, or you're kitting out for lessons, Trust Bar.

Which bar size and line length for which kite

Duotone 2027 bar sizes: Click Bar S 42 cm, M 49 cm; Trust Bar S/M 42/49 cm, M/L 46/53 cm
Duotone's 2027 bar recommendations. Image: Duotone.

Duotone lists the Click Bar S and M and the Trust Bar S/M as "recommended for all Duotone kites", and the wider Trust Bar M/L (46/53 cm) as "specially recommended for Big Air & Kiteloops" — the longer bar gives more leverage for fast loops on big kites.

Each 2027 kite has a recommended bar width and line length in its spec. The pattern is simple:

Kite Bar width Line length
Evo D/LAB (6–13 m) S to 9 m, M from 10 m 22 m to 9 m, 24 m from 10 m
Evo SLS (5–13 m) S to 10 m, M from 11 m 22 m to 9 m, 24 m from 10 m
Rebel SLS (6–14 m) M all sizes 22 m to 10 m, 24 m from 11 m
Neo SLS (5–12 m) M all sizes 22 m to 10 m, 24 m from 11 m
Neo (3–12 m) M all sizes 22 m to 10 m, 24 m from 11 m
Dice SLS (6–13 m) S to 9 m, M from 10 m 22 m to 9 m, 24 m from 10 m

Because both 2027 bars come with 2 m extensions (22+2 / 20+2 on the Click Bar, 22+2 on the Trust Bar), one M bar covers a typical three-kite quiver — run it at 22 m on the small and mid kites and add the extensions for the big one. The Trust Bar S/M and M/L adjust width too, so they cover the S/M split on the Evo and Dice as well.

FAQ

What psi should I pump a Duotone kite to?

For the 2027 range: Original construction 7 psi; SLS 9 psi for 10 m and smaller, 8 psi for 11 m and bigger; D/LAB 10 psi. Always check the pressure printed on the valve protection patch on your own kite, as older model years can differ.

What psi is a Duotone Evo SLS?

9 psi for the 5–10 m sizes, 8 psi for 11–13 m. The same rule applies to the Rebel SLS, Neo SLS and Dice SLS.

What psi is a Duotone D/LAB kite?

10 psi — Evo D/LAB, Rebel D/LAB, Neo D/LAB and Juice D/LAB.

What is the difference between the Duotone Click Bar and Trust Bar?

The Click Bar uses Duotone's push-button back-line trim system; the Trust Bar uses a conventional front-line depower with the DPL24 depower line. Both use Flite99 2.0 lines and the Click-In Safety System. The Trust Bar adjusts in width (S/M 42/49 cm or M/L 46/53 cm) and is available with a Low V for other kites; the Click Bar comes in fixed S (42 cm) and M (49 cm) widths and supports the optional 5th Element kit.

What's new on the 2027 Duotone bars?

Click Bar: no additional front-line stopper ball, Low V distributor supplied in the box rather than pre-fitted, new colourway. Trust Bar: DPL24 depower line in black, additional front-line pigtails for better trim, new colourway. Both available September 2026.

Which bar size do I need for a 2027 Duotone kite?

Rebel and Neo take an M bar in every size. Evo and Dice take S in the small sizes and M in the large — the Evo D/LAB and Dice SLS switch at 10 m, the Evo SLS at 11 m. Line length is 22 m for small kites and 24 m for large; see the table on this page for the exact switch point per model.
