Hydrofoil

Kitesurfing Hydrofoils seem to be the latest and most addictive part of kitesurrfing, they started as race hydrofoils, these were really hard to ride, they had long masts and very long thin wings and masts, but even though these are still in every hydrofoil range there is a new breed of kitesurfing foils arriving and these are for the weekend warior who wants to get going in light winds rather than spending out on a expensive large kite. The new low aspect front wings from the likes of Moses Hydrofoils and F-one and Shinn combined with a short mast are making hydro-foiling a lot easier. Moses is all carbon and a lot lighter than most of the competition, the Shinn Jackson and there P foil are heavy but very easy to learn on, the F-one has opted for foils and wings that can be swapped about to make beginner intermediate and expert foild all by swapping parts about. Some manufactures have tried to make boards that double to do various jobs so maybe a skimm board and a hydrofoil board but the feeling is I believe now to have a proper board designed for what you actually want. Hydro foiling is getting easier all the time but you do need to buy low aspect large wings and masts and short masts to crack it quickly. North Kiteboarding has bucked the trend this year and probably produced one of the cheapest foils and masts and board combinations and I like there set up with there short mast and intermediate foil, a great way of not growing out of your foil.
