The 2009 Tushingham Lightning windsurfing sail is for Freeride / Freerace use.
The Lightning is the result of lessons learned on the racing circuit, but delivers them in a user-friendly package. The smaller sizes are the first choice for slalom racing and even quick enough for speed events, with the larger sizes being ideally suited to large, early planing boards.

In terms of performance the Lightning is less powerful than the X-15 and will appeal to sailors looking for performance across a wider range of wind-speeds. The sail is cut quite flat, but with the cams locked in, it will deliver alot of low-end power with a minimum of effort from the sailor. As the strength of the wind increases, the seven battens and two new style roller cams ensure the sail remains totally stable, delivering power and great top end speed whilst remaining easy to use.
