WHY WAX...
Waxing a snowboard will increase the performance of your Snowboard. Waxing makes the board easier to control, making it glide much better, increasing both your speed and the ease of turning. Second, waxing prolongs and protects the base of the board.
EDGE TUNE
Most rails of a board have a very hard life especially when learning, A worn or burred edge will give you less bite and lost of control . A sharp edge will also grip harder into ice patches.
EDGE DETUNE
When a board is new from the factory, the edges are usually left too sharp, especially at the tip and tail. If left like this, your board will feel unstable and ride unpredictably. A detuned tip and tail will make turning easier and general riding more fun, with park riding becoming more popular full edge detunes are also seen , this will stop the rail of the board catching when board sliding on rails / boxes.
