The slingshot Key is a 5 strut solid hybrid kite, with 5 struts all using a one pump inflation system, it keeps the kite very rigid, this gives you the rider a solid feeling kite, not like the old bow kites that had very little feel, this kite you can feel where it is all the time. This again leads on to you trying more moves as you improve. The Bar is very neat using the same quick release as the top end bar used on much more expensive slingshot kites. The Key has good solid bottom end so ideal when diving to pull you up on the board, but once riding fast the kite can be de-powered easily by pushing the bar out.
I have used this kite off here at Whitstable and was really impressed by it's solid feel, yet great friendly performance, if you are 90 kg and heavier the 13m would be great 10m probably ideal for the average rider around 80kg, and the 7m ideal for the 50-65 kg riders.
The Crisis board is a great companion to go with the Key, it is a wood core board, super thin sharp rails, the center of the board is reasonably stiff, yet the tips are flexible, this allows the board to get going early yet when you are powered up and going fast, the tips bend inducing more rocker and the board will slow a little and drive up wind. I found the board easy and friendly even through the harsh chop here just off the boardworx kitesurfing shop.You will find this package takes you on a long way and you won't tire of the board and kite combination for a long time to come.
